It takes NO SKILL to memorize a certain song that SOMEONE ELSE wrote, and that someone else is a fucking dipshit because the typical rap lyrics don't even make sence! They were written by someone of an IQ of less than 3... Same repetative beats get so ANNOYING! Take lil jon for example he doesn't even write his own songs... uses the same RETARDED beat and looks like a fucking hobo... underground shit is worse, no wonder no ones heard of them because they don't sell SHIT because they're music is shit... I expect a "If you listen to metal you are emo because..." thread from indo...    |

I listen to 99.9% Rap & Hip-Hop, and even I stopped listening to the crap nowadays for almost about 5-7 years now. Everything nowadays is "Girl" oriented. Like appeals to girls or more enjoyable to white people, no offense. There is no such thing as as Gangster Rap nowadays which is sad to me, back when it was made strictly for 1 thing, themselves. They wernt trying to "appeal" to the masses but rather the people around them, like them, and for the most part, there was not a bunch of LIES like in today's shit that braggs about the money they don't got, houses they don't got, cars they don't got & bitches they don't got. Also there is way too many chicks and dudes "singing" in Rap songs, super gay. I miss the days of: Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Snoop (the old snoop) Nate Dogg, Warren G, Soopafly, Bad Azz, Bob Marley, 2Pac, Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Eazy-E, Bone Thugs, Kokane, Butch Cassidy, Zap & Roger, X-Raided, Tha Eastsidaz, Kottonmouth Kings, Sublime, Crooked I, Suga Free, Dj Quik, Too Short, C-Bo, E-40, B-legit, WC, Cypress Hill, Spice1, Alkaholiks, Richie Rich, Rappin' 4-tay, Luniz, Outkast, Mac Dre, Dubee aka Sugawolf, Mack 10, Big Tymers (Manny Fresh, Baby), Hot Boys (B.G., Lil Wayne, Turk, Juvenile).
And for you underground fiends: Deltron, Visionaries, 2Mex, LMNO, Hieroglyphics, Swollen Members
Some Super Underground no one but people from where I grew up know about: The Backpackers, Foundation & Strik9ine
Eastcoast is far inferior, but some honorable mention: Biggy, Rahkim, MethodMan, Redman, Wu-tang, Nas, Jay-z, Jadakiss & the best east coast Rapper(s) Mobb Deep.
Some of my fav back in the day are now straight up mainstream which prevents me from buying anything of theirs since about 2000: Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and another shame I only liked on his first album and totally sold out...50cent.
TODAY I listen to mostly: Daz & Kurupt, Dubee aka Sugawolf, X-Raided, Deltron, Suga Free

Some rap is cool. I like Tech 9ine, old school rap like Strik said. But nowadays, also like Strik said, is just about girls.
